Hello faithful readers,
I'd like to clarify a few things on expectations for game both here and in live session. Games are a two way event. You need someone to run the story and you need someone to play. That being said, if players or the GM mysteriously vanish mid-story something is going to go wrong.
Most of you can likely see where I am going with this. We all have lives outside of the game and those real life situations take precedence over ANYTHING happening in a game, including this one. However, playing here or at a live game is a choice where you as a player are actively choosing to participate in an event with other people. That also means you do owe them the courtesy to let them know when you have to leave because life calls on you. Why? Because they are depending upon you as much as you are depending on them for the story to continue.
Massive absences with no explanation, jumping into plots and then disappearing, all leave people unable to continue forward. Furthermore they will ultimately cause players to become "gun shy" of the player which will lead to hard feelings as the player will feel avoided or left out.
We have all messed this one up for one reason or another. As your GM, I'm asking each of the adults who play here to just take the time to be courteous to your fellows and keep them in the loop. Also if you know your life is upside down for a time or that you simply can't commit to at least routine posting, then avoid major plots. This way you don't lock down threads for months or kill stories all together.
On a similar note, I would expect those who actively request online plot to participate in it and not vanish. This one is a specific GM request. My time is limited as is that of anyone who volunteers to help out. Don't ask for story and leave the one who has taken the time to run it for you and those who choose to join in hanging. I'm going to to endeavor to provide more focused things for the online players to participate in, which will coincide with live game plot.
For now, this is all I've got. Please be good to each other.
Jim
